If you are trying to become a vegetarian, make a smart choice by choosing the organic products. There are several gourmet vegetarian food recipes that you can try using these organic vegetable. Many of these recipes make use of textured soy or whey protein which is considered a healthy alternative to meat.

These days, many people suffering from various ailments are shifting to organic vegetarian foods as these are more nutrient valid, and do not contain the harmful chemical residues that mass-produced products may have. Such foods are also excellent for children as their brain, organs and immune system are still developing, making them more susceptible to toxins.

Whenever possible, purchase the certified organic vegetables, as these are produced without using the synthetic and chemical-based pesticides and fertilizers. Studies have confirmed that organic vegetarian food contains more nutrients and is healthier.

Benefits of Organic Vegetarian Food
There are many reasons to choose the organic vegetarian food items. It has been proved that in the routine farming, more than 400 chemical pesticides are used, and there is significant residue left even after washing thoroughly. Organic food items are not genetically modified, and do not rely on drugs. The standards for organic farming prohibit any usage of growth hormones or antibiotics.

Organic vegetarian food comes from the trusted sources, and is inspected to make sure that they fall in the set organic standards. Organic vegetarian foods are also good for the environment as they cause less pollution. And the bottom line is that they are tasty.

Organic vegetarian foods offer numerous health benefits. Eating such high quality foods help normalize the weight, increase the energy levels, and improve the overall health. Organic vegetarian food contains higher levels of antioxidants, vitamin C and minerals such as iron, calcium, chromium and magnesium. As it is free from harmful food additives, there is reduced risk of osteoporosis, migraines, heart disease and hyperactivity.

When it comes to buying organic vegetarian food, always purchase the certified organic produce. As per Environmental Working Group, it is advisable to stay from what they call as dirty dozen. These are the top twelve vegetables and fruits that are most contaminated. These foods are bell peppers, apples, cherries, celery, nectarines, imported grapes, pears, peaches, red raspberries, potatoes, strawberries and spinach. Broccoli, peas, pineapple, onions, bananas, mangoes, papaya and kiwi have the lowest occurrence of pesticide residue.

Mainly, there are three types of organic vegetarian foods to choose from. There are 100% organic material excluding salt and water. Another type are the foods that have 70% or less of organic material, and the last type are made with organic ingredients. Usually, the white and green stamp is put on the products to show the consumers that the product is organic and has been inspected.

A great vegetarian supplement that we recommend is MannaFeast. It is nutrient dense, and contains a wide variety of whole food ingredients. Go to: www.mannalifeinternational.com for more information.

For most people looking for a way to lose weight easily the answer is as simple as changing to a raw or whole food diet including fresh fruits and vegetables. You will also benefit from consuming fresh whole juices, purified water, seeds, nuts and sprouts. Whole foods are considered live food – which you can count will give your body new energy and life.

A raw food diet consists of fruits and vegetables which are high in fiber content and in water content. Of course, this will aid in your digestive process. For those who follow the whole and raw diet, it is recommended that you eat fruit early in the day in order to boost your energy level and improve your digestion.

There are some important changes that will immediately occur in your body when you adopt a raw food diet.

First, is the improved quality of nutrients taken into your system. Raw fresh produce is nutrient dense, largely pre-digested nutriment that is easily absorbed into your blood. Heated nutrients are denatured and of inferior quality, which are among the reasons why people commonly overeat cooked foods. While their stomach feels full, their physiology craves nutrients and remains nutritionally starved. Once you start eating a diet of unprocessed and uncooked plant foods you will notice a change in how you are feeling.

A raw food diet is a diet that is considered to be ideal for good health, weight loss, and improved energy. The live nutrients from whole foods will boost your body functions and improve your immune system.

Consumption of raw foods over a period of time is sure to bring about effective weight loss. Eating raw foods several times throughout the day will insure that your stomach remains full and yet you do not consume dead calories as these fruits and vegetables are very low in calories. When you are on a raw food diet, you are advised to eat until you are full.

Lastly to help enrich your raw food diet even more it is advised that you consume a lot of food at regular intervals of time as this will ensure that all your nutritional requirements are taken care of. As long as the quantity of food is sufficient you do not need to worry about whether you are getting enough nourishment.

If you decide to try the raw food diet to help you loose weight, you should attempt to plan your meals in advance. That way, you can assure yourself that you are receiving the maximum amount of nutrients to stave off cravings. Be sure to eat a strong diversity of whole foods so you can get the maximum benefits. Enjoy your weight loss!

Everyone knows that a healthy Diet is very important in an over-all well being. From increased energy to a healthy metabolism that properly processes your body functions, consuming a healthy diet of whole food is important.

Accomplishing your fitness goals is the goal when it comes to fitness. We all know by now that all foods are not created equally. The best of food sources is fruits and vegetables free from toxic by products and other negatives like saturated fats, high sodium, and nitrates. Years of research has repeatedly shown that grains, fruits and vegetables are the body’s preferred food sources for optimum performance. Full of nutrients that the body needs to heal itself and operate properly the top of the food pyramid will give you the most bang for your buck when it comes to essential nutrients.

Reasons to increase your intake of fruits and vegetables include, helping to supply our bodies with much needed energy, improving immunity to diseases, and overall mind health. Read on to find out how to take advantage of a great diet.

Much like a car your body is built for performance thus proper maintenance, fuel, and care is needed. Simple, right? Then why is it that increases in obesity and other diet related illnesses still exist in abundance. We just are not taking care to what it is that we are putting in our bodies and expecting results that are simply unrealistic. We need to be champions and caregivers to our bodies and perform the fundamentals of overall body care by committing to better diets for overall better health.

Our choices in nutrition and level of activity are partially a learned behavior. We can learn to eat a variety of foods from all of the food groups to help maintain weight, increase cardiovascular fitness, and increase energy levels naturally. Lowering blood cholesterol can be accomplished by increasing your intake of whole grain foods; fish can decrease the risk of death from coronary artery disease. The benefits of a healthy well balanced diet are endless and should be taken very seriously for optimum health.

Base your food choices on these patterns:

Lean meats and poultry without skin and added saturated and trans fats

Low fat dairy products

Low dietary cholesterol

Cut back on added sugars

Use little or no salt

Drink in moderation

And take care when eating out

Naturally these will be altered if you have any abnormal circumstances (for example, if you are very thin and you work out a lot, then you can ignore many of the rules related to fat and cholesterol, since your body can actually use them).

A healthy diet and life style will provide you with all of the energy, stamina, and endurance to met and exceed the challenges of everyday life. All you really need is provided by nature and at the top of the food pyramid in whole grains fruits and vegetables. So if you are trying to stay in shape, get in shape, maintain good shape or the like remember to handle your body like you handle the care of your automobile. Choose the right fuel to keep your engine running for a long time. Don’t shortchange yourself or your life by fueling your body with damaging food sources and other activities that will diminish your chances for a long healthy happy life.

These principles hold true for anyone in the world. Seniors will reap many benefits from healthy lifestyles, as will young people. Sometimes it can be hard to be sure what the best intake for your body is, but if you start experimenting with different diets you will surely be able to adjust the different levels to their ideal amounts. You can also consult the advice of a dietician or a doctor, or simply find a calculator on the internet that will tell you what kind of food you need to be eating. Once you have found something that works for you, stick with it for the rest of your life. You will be glad that you did.

A great resource for whole foods is a supplement called MannaFeast. You can find it at: www.mannalifeinternational.com

We have been told that we need to eat healthy foods in order for our bodies to be healthier. Many of us would concur that we need to consume foods that are actually better for us such as complete grains, lean meats, nuts, seeds, vegetables as well as fruits and low-fat dairy items.

It is actually difficult to eat healthier if what we have in our kitchen is actually processed, high-fat or sugary foods. It is essential that we buy and stock our kitchens with natural, healthier foods in order for our family members to have better choices when they come to the kitchen to make a snack or prepare a meal.

It is important for kids that healthy foods not only taste good but look good as well. Arrange a bowl of healthy snacks such as mixed nuts, and dried fruits such as raisins, cranberries, or currants in a spot that is easy for kids to reach. Grabbing a handful takes no time at all; they can do that as they walk by. Make sure that your choices you leave for them contain both salty and sweet items.

Young, active, growing kids need to eat five or six times a day because they have smaller stomachs than adults and need fuel for their active lives. A healthy snack can consist of fruit, vegetable, dairy or protein as well as a combination of these items. One good example of a healthy snack would be whole-wheat tortilla, beans, and low-fat cheese. Another healthy snack example raisins and granola mixed together and served with a glass of low-fat milk. How about a banana, yogurt and a glass of water? There are many good snack combinations that appeal to kids and are easy for them to get for themselves.

You can make healthy food choices fun for kids by cutting them into fun shapes or by using food color to make them more attractive. Let your child help you shop and prepare the snack. Kids also model how their parents eat, so make sure that you are setting a good example by eating healthy meals and snacks.

Replace your commercialized condiments such as sauces that are high in sodium and artificial additives with homemade versions that use fresh tomatoes, olive oil, and fresh lemon juice and spices.

Replace your cooking and baking oils with healthier alternatives. Your natural oil choices are “monounsaturated” and “polyunsaturated” and replaces the unhealthy “saturated” or “transfats”. You want to avoid cooking oils such as palm oil, shortening, and palm kernel oil. Stock oils such as sesame, olive, walnut, and flaxseed instead, which are healthier for you and your family members. If you will be cooking foods at high temperatures the choice should be canola oil as it has a higher smoke point. Organic Coconut oil is a good oil to cook with if you need to increase your metabolism.

When preparing salads use sesame oil or flaxseed oil. Sesame oil is high in beta-carotene and flaxseed oil is a good source of omega-3 essential fatty acids. You must refrigerate flaxseed oil.

As we always consider and recommend whole foods diets, it is especially valuable to search and discuss the different and effective eating options. It is especially important to evaluate new dieting options when discussing healthy lifestyles and weight management.

With new diet schemes being introduced to the market often, there is a new technique to eating and losing weight that is calmly landing a following. And, it seems that this approach has much less to do with lose weight diet novelties and more to do with sustainable principles. It is called intuitive eating. Eating spontaneously is all about getting in touch with the food and nutrition that your body genuinely needs.

Typical dieting systems can create a battle that is hard to fight. This battle can cause confusion and disappointment, which almost always will discourage the dieter from moving forward to achieve their weight loss goals. The disappointment with personal appearance, counting calories, restricting food choices and the non-stop punishment day in and day out, is not the pattern that will lead to results. The intuitive approach encourages you to stop the unmerciful self-battle, and begin paying attention to what your heart, mind and body are telling you.

Any person who has engaged in battling their weight over the years knows the letdown and confusion that trend diets cause. With conflicting advice and a constant stream of “the newest” or the “latest and greatest” diets, many people have become overwhelmed. The intuitive eating approach gives the “dieter” permission to tune out the clamor of these external factors and instead turn inside for the intuitive guidance needed for successful weight management.

If we will understand that we are extremely intelligent “machines” with an innate ability to understand what our bodies are telling us, we can better accept the eating intuitively assumption. It stands to reason that our bodies will instruct us intuitively and properly on what is needed for optimum health and vitality. If we can learn to tap into this intuitive understanding, it makes sense that we will gain the proper knowledge to achieve proper weight goals. This approach is simple, but exceptionally effective.

Through an intuitive approach to eating, you are permitted to eat when, what and how much you consider appropriate. In lieu of beguiling your meal plans according to a lose weight diet and judging everything in terms of calories, fat grams, grams of carbs and other such measurements, the idea is to listen to the internal cues and recognize just what the body wants and needs.

As a result, daily food choices are based on real hunger and real overfilling, as determined by you rather than some external set of measures that may have no relationship at all to the status and function of your body. Stepping back and looking at this approach, it is easy to see that a typical lose weight diet and even a diet detox can easily be working against the inherent, intelligent, natural programming of your body.

One of the foremost researchers in the field of intuitive eating is Steven Hawks of Brigham Young University. Hawks has concluded that the “normal” approach to dieting in America does not result in any significant weight loss in the long term. In addition he states that the typical lose weight diet strategies contributes to unhealthy eating habits, food anxiety, and can even encourage the development of eating disorders.

In one study directed by Hawks, he discovered that those who learned the approach of intuitive eating experienced many additional positive benefits, including quelled risk of cardiovascular problems, lower BMI ratings, and better triglyceride levels. He summarized his research by saying that the study supported the premise of using intuition to eat, and resulted in a positive and healthy way to control weight.

More and more people are beginning to alter their diets to consume more healthy raw foods. Unprepared food has become very fashionable nowadays and there are certainly very good reasons. Let’s discuss a couple of them in this article.

Unprepared food is a vegetarian food which is not baked, cooked or heated over forty eight Celsius, about 120 Fahrenheit, degrees. For generations, people have been consuming healthy raw foods. In fact, some famous people (Leonardo de Vinci, Russo, Hippocrates, Tolstoy, and certainly others) had diets consisting of unprepared foods. Certainly that alone does not press the importance of eating raw food, but it does show some credibility with a society trend.

Today, many other famous folk follow a healthy diet and consume uncooked food as a healthier lifestyle. It’s also a way for them to maintain a more impressive appearance.

Before we start consuming unprepared food we want to better understand the advantages with eating living whole food. Let’s start with… Enzymes.

Enzymes are important for our body functions and to support in maintaining optimum health benefits. In the process of cooking food (which we believe is less tasty) enzymes are often destroyed which, of course, takes away the benefits to our bodies. Eating raw or uncooked foods, will give our bodies the significant benefits of the live nutrients.

One of the most significant benefits of consuming unprepared food is that it helps us maintain a balanced body weight. We will not go into great detail in the content of this article, but certainly body-weight issues are certainly an area of importance. It is widely known that weight issues contribute to difficulties with: high blood pressure, coronary disease, diabetes, and certainly many other health challenges. Obviously, studies have shown great health advantages if we maintain a recommended body weight. Having an ideal physical weight can contribute to: an improved protection system against disease, better sleep, higher energy levels, improved digestion, less fat in your blood, and many other benefits. Our goal, of course, is a longer and more-vibrant life.

Another vital part is consuming the right types of foods. Most health practitioners (and governmental agencies) now recommend a variety of colors in your diet. That simply means eating a strong variety of vegetables, fruits, berries, whole grains, etc., in order to get the high-nutrient value from different sources. Of course, different foods carry different nutrient values – so eating a variety will certainly give our body a good balance of the nutrients that our bodies need.

I’m hoping that by this point you are sure that consuming unprepared food could change your life for the better. But how should you start consuming unprepared food? Here are few simple suggestions on how might want to begin changing your diet:

Rather than immediately deleting foods, begin with adding uncooked foods to your diet.

Drink only natural squeezed juices. Particularly green juice made of celery, cucumber, and green leafs. (Try cucumber, celery, green leafs, some ginger, and of lemon ).

Start your lunch and dinner with a huge salad. Add seeds and nuts.

Begin to eat nuts, almonds, and seeds as nibbles.

Begin to remove slowly processed food and replace with raw. Perhaps begin with 20% raw and slowly increase the percentage of raw into your diet.

Be aware that when you start consuming only unprepared food your body may begin to clean all toxins (detoxify) and you may begin to notice some changes, such as: unpleasant breath, headaches, strange bowel movements, etc., as your body begins to eliminate the toxins.

Of course, you should always consult your health professional before you significantly alter your diet or exercise lifestyle.

Most people are in a hurry, and just do not seem to have the time to make a healthy whole food dinner after a long day at work. I mean let’s get real – who wants to spend the time to make a healthy dinner after a long day at work? The fact is, after a stressful and hard day there couldn’t be too many things that were more important than getting a good wholesome supply of nutrients into your body.

Unfortunately, one of the main reasons most people opt to grab a fast meal at a fast food restaurant on the way home from work is they are exhausted and do not want to make a meal at home. Fast food is easy, no preparation and no work. Of course, there is very little nutritional value in a fast food meal.

So the problem is obvious, there is a conflict with nutrition and quick-meals. People are certainly busy and often need a quick-fix meal, but fast food meals are unhealthy for your body to consume on a regular basis. Fast food is really not a good solution. Do you think that people would eat healthier at dinnertime if they could have dinner prepared and ready to eat quickly – perhaps in under 30 minutes?

Getting a good healthy dinner ready and on the table in under 30 minutes may not seem like a possible feat to most individuals but it can be done and without breaking too much of a sweat. In order to make a healthy dinner in under 30 minutes you must be willing to do a little bit of planning and organizing. There are a few things that you can do to achieve this healthy meal in less than 30 minutes and here are some tips on doing just that.

First it takes a little planning and making out of a shopping list. Take the list to the store with you and use it, but be flexible because you never know what the produce will look like, or when a totally delectable food item calls out to you. Try new recipes and expand your ability to add new colors and textures to your meals, which will tempt your family to eat more healthy foods.

Another way to trim time is to have your recipes organized so that you know where they are when you need them. Pull out the ones where the prep time is low (under 30 minutes).

If your recipes are in various cookbooks, use tabs or stickies to find them easily. If you use recipe cards have them in categories or arranged by alphabetically so that you can find them (whichever is better for you).

If you clip magazine recipes, tape them to construction paper and organize them to category so that you can make them into a sort of cookbook. Put them into a notebook or binder. You can also make up a recipe file with folders and tabs to through recipe cards into or clippings from magazines.

For those of you who are Internet users, have a favorites folder marked “Recipes”, for all your recipes and have a folder for each food group or category.

Now that you have your recipes organized move on to planning your menus.

Go through your favorite cookbook, or recipe file (listed above) and select some dishes that you want to include in your weekly menus. Make sure you chose a variety of colors and textures. Pick side dishes, main courses, fruits, salads, breads or rolls. Don’t forget cheese to go with your fruit.

Use these menus to write up your shopping list. Mark down the page # of the recipe next to the meal so that you can easily refer to it when needed.

If you know the store well you can make out your shopping list based on how you walk the aisles. Once you have a list that works well, photocopy it and use it as a master (make several copies and have these on hand).

Use a notebook for the shopping list and use the same notebook each week. You will have a handy record of your menus and your shopping list.

Prepare foods ahead of time and store them safely according to food guidelines until needed. You can chop enough carrots for all meals that week at one time, same with potatoes. Double recipes and make two dinners at once, freezing one for another fast meal later in the week.
